L'histoire ancienne de l'Inde est un sujet fascinant qui plonge dans les racines de la civilisation indienne. Civilisation de la vallée de l'Indus

Une des plus anciennes civilisations du monde, la civilisation de la vallée de l'Indus a prospéré entre 2600 et 1900 av. J.-C. Cette civilisation était caractérisée par des villes bien planifiées, des systèmes d'égouts avancés, une agriculture développée et des représentations artistiques uniques. Les sites archéologiques tels que Harappa et Mohenjo-Daro fournissent des preuves de cette ancienne civilisation.

L'invasion aryenne

Vers 1500 av. J.-C., les Aryens, un groupe de personnes nomades, envahirent l'Inde depuis le nord-ouest. Leur invasion a marqué le début de la période védique, au cours de laquelle les textes religieux sacrés appelés les Vedas ont été composés. Les Aryens sont également responsables de l'introduction du système des castes en Inde, qui a façonné la société indienne pendant des millénaires.

Le règne des grands royaumes

L'Inde antique a connu la montée et la chute de nombreux royaumes puissants. Parmi les plus célèbres, on trouve l'empire Maurya, fondé par Chandragupta Maurya au 4ème siècle av. J.-C. Son petit-fils, l'empereur Ashoka, est connu pour sa conversion au bouddhisme et pour être un grand propagateur de cette religion en Inde.

Plus tard, au 3ème siècle av. J.-C., l'empire Gupta domina une grande partie de l'Inde. Cette période est considérée comme l'âge d'or de l'Inde ancienne, marquée par des avancées dans les domaines de l'art, de l'architecture et des mathématiques.

Les grands enseignements religieux

L'ancienne histoire de l'Inde est également profondément touchée par les enseignements de diverses religions. Le bouddhisme, fondé par Gautama Buddha au 6ème siècle av. J.-C., a connu une grande popularité en Inde et dans le reste de l'Asie. Il a prôné la compassion, la non-violence et la quête de la vérité.

L'hindouisme, la plus vieille religion du monde, est née en Inde. Cette religion complexe est basée sur des textes sacrés appelés les Vedas et englobe une multitude de divinités, de rituels et de croyances. Le jaïnisme, fondé par Mahavira, et le sikhisme, fondé par Guru Nanak, sont également nés en Inde et ont apporté leur propre sagesse et philosophie.
